meet the artists - Miek Zwamborn and Rutger Emmelkamp (aka Knockvologan): 6 to 7pm, Thursday

Come along to meet artists Miek and Rutger to hear about their processes of working in west Scotland, between our marine, land and human habitats.

They will introduce the works in the new exhibition ‘Land of Angry Waves’ and explain how their unique, place-specific long term work has generated the beautiful photography, drawings and publications currently on show.

As a writer, visual artist and environmentalist, Miek Zwamborn’s works illuminate the overlooked but inspiring intrinsic qualities of our seaweeds, woodlands and other wonderful native species.

Rutger Emmelkamp uses photography and installation to reify his long-term work with communities, re-thinking the importance of territories and cultural traditions, and how they enable us to generate a sense of belonging.

Miek Zwamborn and Rutger Emmelkamp work individually, and also in collaboration through their creative-site Knockvologan Studio on Mull.
